The humble sages, by virtue of true knowledge, see with equal vision a learned and gentle brāhmaṇa, a cow, an elephant, a dog and a dog-eater. Those whose minds are established in sameness and equanimity have already conquered the conditions of birth and death. They are flawless like Brahman, and thus they are already situated in Brahman. The Supreme Personality of Godhead said: The indestructible, transcendental living entity is called Brahman, and his eternal nature is called adhyātma, the self. Action pertaining to the development of the material bodies of the living entities is called karma, or fruitive activities.
The Bhagavad Gita, circa 776 B.C.E

“Everyone shall be guaranteed the freedom of conscience, the freedom of religion, including the right to profess individually or together with other any religion or to profess no religion at all, to freely choose, possess and disseminate religious and other views and act according to them.”
Article 28, Chapter 2, Constitution of Russia, Rights And Freedoms Of Man And Citizen

Some adherents of the Russian Orthodox Church in Tomsk, Siberia want their Hindus out. They don’t like the Bhagavad Gita, the enlightenment scripture of the Indo-Aryan revelation from about 3000 years ago, written later in Sanskrit.

The matter, which surfaced publicly a few days after Indian prime minister Manmohan Singh’s recent visit to Moscow, is as nuclear as the plutonium and uranium in the small college town.

India, a de jure secular country with no state religion wants another secular country’s, also with no state religion, Russia’s, radioactive elements, but it appears that the locals mining it in Siberia don’t want to share it with non-Christians, despite tigers and language origins being common to the chai drinking peoples in both places. Even the Iranians (literally Aryans) know it because the Avesta of the Zoroastrians from the Aryan lands of the ancient kingdoms of the horse and chariot across the vast swath of land from Khazakhstan, Austria, Russia and Ukraine to Turkey is the stuff of (Indo-European) civilization. Jesus, and Paul preaching the universality of the egalitarian Christian gospel in Greek came much later.

The Russian government which regrets this unsecular behavior of its citizens wants to make its sparse Hindu denizens at home, for the constitution of the Russian Federation grants and protects the religious rights of Man and Citizen, Man having come before citizen.

This transcendence of Man over the boundaries of polity is the essence of The Bhagavad Gita.

When God is One, evangelism is for conversion between the paths, not between gods.
